Yesterday, Monday I had painting class. The class is working on a group painting of Caravaggio, so the class did a preliminary drawing in charcoal. I don't have a picture of the entire thing, but here is a picture of my section.
If you want to figure the scale of this, there is a six-inch ruler in the picture. We also started working on putting this onto canvas and oil painting. So... here is a picture of studio, and my workspace.
Upstairs Studio
This is my upstairs desk. There are a few of my drawings on the wall from an earlier critique.
Monday is a long day sometimes because I am in this studio from quarter till 9 through 5 o'clock. There is a break, but I tend to chill there because my Prof., Brenda is awesome.
This Monday she treated me and Prof. Ure to lunch, we had Chinese. It was delicious. I had lo mein, fried rice, and fried duck. I will probably go back to that place because it was so good.
Speaking of food, I have gotten really good at making dinner. Tonight's dinner was really good, I think Kaitlin put a video on her blog from tonight. Here is a picture of one of my dishes.
This particular dish was a combined effort of both Kaitlin and I.
At the moment I am dealing with some awful congestion. I think it is either allergies, or the beginnings of a sinus infection. Yummy! I am stealing/borrowing with no intention of returning decongestant from Kaitlin.
I am gonna add another blog of the pictures from Assisi, and another for my history class pictures so that this can be an about me blog, and those can be about the place blog, if that makes any sense. http://aliyadm1.blogspot.com/
Oh! I thought I would take a picture for dad yesterday; it made me laugh, and miss you!
Introducing: CAT-tus
(insert Aliya laughter here)
Also, our cactus outside is blooming, its pretty.
Thursday is the start of the South Field Trip. This evening we had a lecture on Pompeii, and the history of it. We will go to Naples, then to Pompeii, and then Kaitlin, Rebecca and I are going to Capri after the field trip, since we had the option to stay and explore.
For Painting class, I finally decided on the painter that I liked to research: Giorgio Vasari. Here is the painting that I am thinking about pulling colors from.
Giorgio Vasari. Pala. Santa Caterina Livorno.
When I was in Assisi, I took this picture for mom. Wouldn't it be fun if I brought one back?
Cute!!!!
I figure I should probably end with my charming face, so you all know I am doing okay in Rome.
Taken at Assisi, about halfway to the Castle.
END of Day 29.
